An anonymous body maintained in midair by 40 cables, moves in space influenced by the fluctuation of the stock market. Until exhaustion, this body reified, subjected to this device depiction of SM ritual, torture instrument, puppeteer, adopts improbable positions at the discretion of the quotations.
Pulled, torn, being disarticulated in an inept dance, it becomes the allegoric expression of the ambivalent relation that man maintains with its environment or a form of conjuration of the economical determinism which dictates our way of life, defines our actions, and conditions the individual and collective construct.
Image of a social body tied up, being manipulated without resistance to the maneuvers of a device, hereby incarcerated and deprived from marks, as one of the patients of Dr. Cameron described by Naomi Klein in la Stratégie du choc, it becomes a subject available to all alienations.
Video-performance presented in the exhibition Subruncinator, Espace III - Croix-Baragnon (from the 12th until the 28th of April 2012). Exposition supported by the town hall of Toulouse, the Center of Photography of Lectoure and the Contemporary Art network PinkPong.
